Is 'inauguration' an acceptable translation? Based on the Finnish translation (vihkiminen) of en invigning, this word sounds like it is referring to a ceremonial event like 'an inauguration'. Would not 'an opening' be en öppning? Or is this simply a matter of register?

I agree, it’s opening in the sense of ’the opening of a new mall/gallery/bridge’, not the opening in a wall or anything like that. That would be öppning.

So should I report 'inauguration' as an alternative translation?

I’ve already added it, but for the future, yes. If you have any reports or suggestions of improvements, please use the button. :)

So it's not like a premiere of a movie or play?

Looks like related to German "Einweihung". Is that correct?
