Can someone explain why it wouldn't be haal?

I get the context haal is often used in, but was wondering if there's a detailed explanation someone can give (also, what would the infinitve for haal be?)

So you can drop the "it" at the end of the sentencr when translating to Dutch? Is it wrong to add "het"?
