Yes, Italian is beautiful... I learned Spanish a couple of years back in School, and also with duolingo. I started Italian some time back, and so far, I love it!
It's also easy for me to pronounce the words as well, because I speak fluent Romanian, and it's really similar. Keep Up The Good Work!!! :)

Oh, I started Italian only a week ago, and I really want to learn Romanian some day... I hope it will be on Duolingo, I've seen it on the incubator, but it's still far from beta. Italian is a nice language too, and I also find it easy so far, having studied both French and Spanish in school (oh yes, and Latin, although I always found that boring an paid little attention in class). I'm hoping to speak all the Romance languages (including Portuguese) on an at least intermediate level some day.

It's s beautiful language and I learned it after I learned Spanish. I found it very easy and you probably will to, except for the occasional times I use spanish words instead of Italian words.

I agree with you... although I get more confused with Spanish (like spelling cuanto or quanto...) than with French.

I love Italian, I started rosetta stone and duo lingo to learn it :) and it fits nicely into any schedule with duo lingo

Yeah, duo makes it sooo much easier. I traversed the entire Italian tree last year, and a lot of my duo time was mostly on my phone while I was standing in lines, and at times like that, just filling up the day with duo in the 'moments in between'.

if you can understand Spanish and speak it and italian it's easy for you then you should go and try Portuguese... it's easier than italian and it's quite fun... I'm telling you this because I'm a spanish native speaker :)

I study both languages. For Japanese ,it is easy to speak Italian.Because Italian word spelling is easy to pronounce . Spanish is difficult to pronounce -Y- -lla- -j- etc . Japanese is more difficult than Italian for you. Someday, challenge to learn Japanese!

I have tasted a lot of languages. Persian, Arabic, English, Japanese, Italian and Spanish. Italian is my favorite language.

It is beautiful and not so easy for me as you guys saying so...I get frustrated because it takes me a lot of time to embed words and rules into my long term memory. It takes a lot of practice and I mean a lot, I am using duo lingo for a couple of months and I'm only at the level nine...

It is, indeed, a beautiful language (and a beautiful country) - except when trying to decipher official forms! :) Of course, here we only learn "official" Italian, but there are hundreds of regional and local dialects - to the extent that when a guy from Naples was on a competition on TV here, they had to put sub-titles so the north of Italy could understand!

I think Italian and French have some common rules, but Spanish is closer. French pronunciation is the hardest among Latin languages. Portuguese is also similar but with more sounds and phonemes. I am a native one.
