I finished the Tree!

OK, it seems that it is a tradition to announce on the discussion board when you have completed a tree. I am happy to report that I completed the Spanish tree in 4.5 months. I worked pretty steadily on it throughout that timeframe. The whole tree was a refresher for me since I had taken several years of Spanish in college. I am very happy with Duolingo because it has strengthened my Spanish skills and I have more confidence in my ability to communicate in Spanish.

Yes, it's an important tradition at that, so we can share in the excitement! Congratulations on the completion of your tree!

Hola laureannelaw.

Good luck! Feel free to ask me if you have questions! I'm not a native, but I'm finishing my tree today, so I at least know the abc's of Spanish. :) Otherwise, there's javax, a Spanish native. She's not the only one, but she's been really helpful to me :)

Congratulations! I'm at 250 words and I'm surprised how much of the Spanish subtitles I can follow already on Netflix. Plus a lot of the words are very close. Pretty stoked about where I'll be in 6 months if I keep up this pace.

Netflix was what got me started. I've watched the amazing Grand Hotel 7 times through, and now I'm watching Velvet. It certainly helps to know some Spanish when you watch shows like that, they help reinforce what I've learned, and now I can often tell when the subtitles are wrong or missing something! :) Now, if only Netflix would get the last season of Grand Hotel, ¡yo tendría mucha felicidad!

    January 7, 2015

I think of stupid things like... If there are tons of sound Yo's - Ellos ect. They have many people involves. Also I think: if "mos" people agree I gotta remember the others!. Dumb or silly things like this can often make the plural so much more accessible to me. I think thats so silly I can't forget it!
