There needs to be a passive auditory immersion feature

For example if I'm working, walking, driving, etc. and I'm not able to interact with my phone (or the website), I want to be able to stream German audio that I can passively listen to while I work, walk, drive, etc.

Ideally the audio would be a mix of content I've learned and new content. Thanks.

I don't have strong feelings about passive language learning... but this guy does! http://www.fluentin3months.com/passive-learning/

I only mention it because I happened to read that recently and this reminded me of it.

Of course I think active learning is better than passive, but passive is better than nothing if you're unable to interact with the application.

Also by "passive" I don't necessarily mean you're not paying attention... just that you don't need to be interacting with the application. Active listening would definitely be possible with this feature.

Nice idea, especially if the passive learning content covers similar work already done on duolingo. Then it reinforces what is already covered through active learning and helps to let it all sink in.

I don't know if this helps, but if you have a smartphone, there are quite a number of language podcasts on itunes that you can stream or download and leave playing while you're doing something else. I haven't looked for any german ones myself, but I'm sure they have those. :)
