What is the rationale of using the form ' zo'n ' for this sentence rather than other versions of 'such' (for example zulke) ?

Just to note. This is a good example of how (in the English translation) 'such' would be used. I'll just have to get used to this funny Dutch language! :)

Hold on, does Dutch also not make a distinction between warm and hot, like Norwegian?

There is a word for hot, "heet," but I gather that the (imaginary) line between what is warm and what is hot is further up the temperature scale in Dutch than it is in English. That is, an oven or a fire can be hot, but a day is warm.
