why is "is failed by" not accepted
In English we would normally say "The youth......", instead of "The Young...".
In English (American anyway), youth is a collective, singular noun which would make 'the youth is....' correct
That was what I was going to say. "the youth is" should be accepted as "youth" is a collective noun making it singular.
Yeah I would never say "the youth are" in my idiolect
"The youth" is accepted (now.)
But maybe "the youth" is more like "ungdommen"? It's the more direct translation, but I think "de unge" is the most frequent way to say it in Danish.
Hi sorenss. Thanks for your comment.
disappointed as an alternative to let down?
The young 'are failed by' is the same as 'are let down by'. This is very discouraging. What's the point? I feel like stopping and I have had over 400 unbroken days.
To this day, may 12 2021, the word 'youth' is still not accepted :(
I can see "youth" is written in as an alternative. Maybe something else went wrong?
