I just hit level 25 in German (without going over, I have exactly 30,000 XP for German :P). Now that I have 25 levels and a fully gold tree, it's time to focus on Spanish!
Really impressive, I am still a long way far from reaching that point. But I'll continue little by little.
Awesome achievement, I am trying to do it the other way, achieving level 25 in Spanish while continuing my road on German and occasionally do some italian. Good Luck on your journey!
Ausgezeichnet! Congratulations! Some of us still dream about it, could you tell us, how long did it take and some other details if possible?
I started Duo in June, but I already knew a good amount of German, so I skipped a fairly large portion of the tree. I don't remember how much I skipped. I was also only working on German, French, and Spanish when I started, so I was able to focus on it more. I got a couple levels from strengthening everything, and then I started getting a lot more XP from Immersion. I managed to get through the last three levels really quickly once I reached Tier 4, since it rewards 5 XP for every sentence rated and 1 XP per word translated.
Thank you very much! Yes, I experience strengthening as I noticed that finishing the tree (I did it in Frnch) isn't equal with language fluency ;) As to Immersion, It is a bit difficult as English is a foreign language to me (I am Polish).
Once again, thanks for the answer, accept my lingot, please ;) and let me follow you as I can see, we are on similar levels in Spanish and French.
Mit herzlichen Grußen
I consider myself fluent(ish) in German, but that's due to an immersion camp I visit yearly, not Duolingo. What have you done (other than Duo) to learn English? I plan to learn Polish, but I'll probably start before the Duolingo course is ready. Also, we have the same name!
I also skipped a large portion of the tree because I was basically fluent in German having lived in Germany for nine years and spoken practically nothing but German in that time. However I haven't used it much for 19 years. I started on level 5 and have reached level 8 with only 170 XP I think to go until level 9. I've achieved that in 12 days. I did circa 700 XP in one day.Congratulations on your achievement.
Congratulations! Level 25 and all gold- that's a lot of hard work! My Portuguese tree hasn't been gold for a long time unfortunately.
Congratulations fellow German learner & BSCT contributor! Just a little bit more time in immersion and I'll be there in French myself. Good luck with the Spanish, apparently you'll be able to try Spanish for German speakers soon as well :)
Well done. Any chance you can tell us which immersion camp you use and how long it lasts ?
It's called Waldsee (part of the Concordia Language Villages), and you can go for one, two, or four weeks
CONGRATS!!! Would you say that you have a good grip on German? Like if you went to Germany you could have full conversations with locals?
Yes, but I wouldn't say that's from Duo. I commented somewhere else in this thread about it in more detail.
Good job, man! I'm not that far yet, but that's good to hear!
Espanol es muy daficil cuando tu le gusta la idioma!
Congratulations! I started learn German this week and, I have a long way to practise and improve. Well Done!
Wunderbar! Ich habe dieselbe Schritten gemacht: erstmals Deutsch, und danach Spanisch. :)
No, there's no way to authenticate that I actually did it that would be necessary for certification. I would have to take the actual test for that.
yes but my question is, do you still need more preparations to be able to pass the c1 test
