  5. Port (Tune) series with Julie…

Port (Tune) series with Julie Fowlis and Muireann NicAmhlaoibh -- IONTACH!

If you're lucky enough to live in Ireland or the UK, you can watch Port (Tune), the new 7-part series with Julie Fowlis, who sings in Scottish Gaelic/Gàidhlig and Muireann NicAmhlaoibh, who sings in Irish/Gaeilge.

All I can say is -- IONTACH!

The first part is set in Glascow. The second part is set in Dublin. I'm sure they'll head for the islands at some point.

Julie and Muireann are exploring the history of shared musical traditions in Scotland and Ireland.

You'll hear a lot of Gàidhlig and a lot of Gaeilge and a lot of wonderful musicians making music.

Easy to understand why I'm learning Irish. Yes?

Here's the announcement for TG4 http://www.tg4.ie/en/programmes/port/home.html

Here' the BBC ALBA iPlayer link (only works if you are in UK). http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04xdn7n

Gosh, I really wish I could see it but, unfortunately I am not in the UK... sadness.... :'(

I wish it was more widely available too. :( If I come across any of the content I will pipe up.

Your new link was working... right up until this program started, at which point a message came up informing me that it is not available in my region.

Region locking is a terrible, terrible evil. Perhaps the greatest evil I have yet faced in my life.

Oh-h-h! I just got the same result. I'm in the US. So sorry (and disappointed). If the broadcast was blocked, then the Player will also shut us out. Not to despair! At some point the content will come our way. I'll keep looking.

I just noticed a new discussion started by Gaelic_Lady_20 with the very cheery title:

Irish Music! Let's do an Irish Party https://www.duolingo.com/comment/6376140
