My Italian dictionary says giornale can be translated "journal" which I used but which duo refused to accept. I have reported it. Please report it also thanks.

Funnily enough, journals are more often classified independent than newspapers, adding another level of validity to your argument.

What is an "independent newspaper" in Italy? One that is not published by the government? Or one that has no corporate connections?
