the wolf isst.....the wolf ist.......??

Why does: Der Wolf isst ein Tier translate as: The wolf is an animal and not: The wolf eats an animal?

By the way: In German you actually do not say "essen" if it is an animal that eats something but "fressen".

That must be a mistake. sein -> ist essen -> isst

"feedback" If you don't get the window "Still think you are right?", then in the left margin there will always be the word "feedback" written sideways.

I believe it is a site glitch....so if or when it happens again I will try the 'think you're still correct' link.Vielen dank!!!
