Can anyone tell me the difference between "conhece" and "sabe"? Are the interchangeable?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe "conhecer" is more common for people (eu conheço ela) whereas "saber" is for when you know a fact.

Conhecer - to have some information - eu conheço você/sua cidade/as regras

Focus on the first E, since it's the strongest sound in both words and they're very different. The E from ela sounds like the E from "bed", and the E from ele sounds like the A from "lay".
