I don't have any questions to ask about this sentence, but...when the audio played and I heard this question being asked by duo's robotic, portuguese female voice, I felt a small chill run down my spine, what with the fact that machines will one day be intelligent and powerful enough to enslave us all...No? Okay, I'll stop. Just wanted to let out some steam after a frustrating lesson. :P

What is the difference between liberdade and libertação? Can I use libertação here instead?

Liberdade involves a long period of being free. Libertação is the single act of setting free. For this sense, you can also use liberdade.

Here, as you refer to set someone free, you can use either liberdade or libertação! =)
