ETA on Duolingo Offline Lessons?

Has anyone heard further about the ability in the apps to download lessons for offline use? I need this feature because data drains so much of my phones batter.

It is already possible to practice offline. The next section(s) is/are already downloaded to your phone. (http://techcrunch.com/2013/03/14/duolingo-adds-offline-mode-and-speech-recognition-to-its-mobile-app/ - works on android too)

That is true but it will not be counted on the web site until you reconnect and synchronise so unless this is done on the same day, you are likely to loose your streak.

That is what happened to me and I had a 10 day streak

It no longer works on iOS, and personally I think Duolingo is going to scrap this option all together.
