I finally get to learn German
I am so excited to finally be able to learn German. I never got a chance in school since the language was never offered. I am still having a hard time with spelling the longer words and figuring out the pronunciation of some of the unfamiliar sounds. I really wish you could pick one type of exercise and keep repeating it with different words. For example I have an easy time translating sentences from German to English but have a really hard time the other way around and really wish I could practice just that skill over and over again. Same goes for conjugation. Anyway just wanted to get my voice out there. Hopefully it will be a German speaking voice soon enough.
I'm doing German on here as well. It's very good. It would be nice to do what you mentioned and set it to do specific exercises.
Translating from English to German is an applied skill, everyone struggles with that at first. I remember I used to have the damndest time remembering the difference between "I will" and "I want." Repeated, sustained exposure is the best way to mitigate that. The more you read in German, the faster you'll train your brain to innately recognize the translations when you're reading English.
Hi Rhian713, yes I agree - repeating or stregthening the topic doesn't do it because you get nearly the same set of examples. As a beginner I would find it very useful to have the option to do some different exercises on possessive pronouns for a start! Also, I have just done the first two conjunctions lessons, and some varied practice sessions on that too would help fix it in my memory. Benmaja
