Finalmente le pagamos al hombre.

It's the translation given for "Finally we pay the man". Why do we need to put a "le" in it?

the "le" is the indirect object pronoun is always used to clarify to "who","whom" or "what" you pay, otherwise it gets confusing. For example "envio al hombre" translates as "I send the man..." whereas "le envio al hombre" means "I send to the man..."


If you leave it out, they would surely understand you in almost all cases. Buy they would know you're not a native, no matter how good your pronunciation is.
