is there a way to select accented vowels from the keyboard, without using the mouse?
One option is changing your input language in your O.S. settings (but can be more annoying than the mouse option).
Another option (for Windows) is learning the "alt codes" by heart. It can seem hard at first but, once you master it, you can type quite quickly. For instance, instead of typing
C-A-M-I-[mouse click Ó]-N
The alt codes list for accented vowels (plus the n-tilde) is:
á: 160 — é: 130 — í: 161 — ó: 162 — ú: 163 — ñ: 164
For sure there are many other options, but I can't recall any right now.
Thanks. I'll try that; it should be a great help. Anything for the upside-down question mark that you know of? Thanks again.
Try Alt+168 for ¿
All the alt codes are typed without releasing the Alt-key. So the sequence would be:
Press [Alt] and keep it pressed. Type 168 (or any othe alt code). Release [Alt].
For speed, I recommend using the left hand for the Alt key, and the Numerical pad for the codes (if your keyboard has a numerical pad).
All the other letters (such as the upper-case versions) can be found here: http://www.alt-codes.net
