Finished the Spanish tree, aahhhh!!!!!

I joined Duolingo in June 2013. After a year and a half, I finally finished the Spanish skill tree! Oh well, estoy muy feliz! It took a long time to get through because I spent a LOT of time reviewing lessons I had already completed...toward the end when they are throwing verb forms at you like crazy, I just powered through, figuring I'd need to go back and review anyway.

Wish me luck!!

i had pretty much the same experience as you i think i took ages to complete the tree what with stopping and starting and redoing umpteen sections but now i've finished the tree and i'm alittle more comfortable with the language i find i'm using duoling more than before i finished it and i think you cross a certain threshold into the enjoyment phase ... anyway felicidades

That's a big accomplishment! And keeping trees golden takes work, but it is a constant reviewing process, so it's worth it in the long run. Keep going!

Nope. I'd consider myself an advanced beginner, though...I can hold a simple conversation or talk about basic things.

Just doing a little bit every day. Unless you're some kind of language genius, I think it's better to take your time and master the material, especially the foundational lessons. Toward the end they are just throwing verb forms at you so I blasted through some of that stuff. Will need to go back and review.

In school I took German, so compared with that Spanish is easy, but German is less useful to me. (I've also tried to teach myself Japanese...sí, español es más fácil!
