finding a language buddy?

Hej language learning friends!

I've been thinking about finding a skype friend to practice my swedish with, but I have a few questions:

1) how do I find such a person?

2) I'm pretty early in my language learning journey - What level should I be at before I seek a language buddy out?

3) I'm concerned that I may not be able to find anyone as I hear that most swedish speakers tend to be fluent in English already.

You can try this website : http://www.conversationexchange.com/index.php?lg=fr#searchbox

I could find interesting people to practice languages there. Don't worry too much with your level, I am sure you will be able to find people who will like to help you.

Thanks heaps!!!

I've just signed up now and had a look, but all I can find is paying for lessons from teachers, rather than finding people to talk to.

There should be a section where you can find "language partners" in the drop-down menu of "community".

I use www.mylanguageexchange.com which is free and easy to use. I have four Swedish friends there now, a couple who I email and text-chat with and a couple who I "live chat" with when I'm feeling brave enough. It has helped me immensely and it's fun to make new friends too. Give it a go!

Thanks so much!!!!!

How long have you been studying swedish for?

Four days haha. Yourself?

I have been learning it for about 20 months. I just found this program and started it about a week ago.

I also have lived in sweden for about 18 months as well.
