How am I going to use all these lingots?

I wish duolingo would come up with more things to buy with our hard-earned lingots! Any ideas?

You can buy double or nothings which would get you more - and make the problem worse! Or you could start a bunch of new languages and get the bonus skills. Even though the progress quizzes are pretty hard to understand because you just receive a number as your score, you could periodically take one to see how your knowledge of Spanish is increasing (unless, of course, if you have already scored a 5/5). If all else fails, you could always give them to people who make good posts or hold an xp contest and award lingots to the winner.

I like how you got 50 lingots after saying you have no idea of what to do with them

you could donate some to me, perhaps for voting up on some document you translated :)

I do need to start translating documents. I have lacked the confidence to do it so far. It keeps telling me I know 69.4% (or 68.6%, or 69.8%, etc.) of the Spanish needed, and I thought I would wait til it's more like 75%, but just when it approached 70% it goes down again!

That's really not an indication of how much you know, if I were you I'd just go for it. There are so many cognates that it becomes much easier to translate. The hardest thing is to make sure you have a good grasp on grammar, transitions, phrases, idioms, etc. A lot of these are easy to figure out though.

I always buy a streak freeze just in case I can't get to a day's goals. So, admittedly my 132 day streak is not unblemished, just bribed with lingots.

Also, someone can give you lingots (unlimited amount but it takes lingots away from your own stash)

I usually give a lingot to someone who corrects my Spanish as a thank you.
