What is the difference between "gillar" and "tycker om"? I know that someone has answered that question somewhere, but I have no idea where.

None really. Tycker om is a tad less colloquial.

I always wondered why gillar is used so sparingly in these courses. I've personally seen it only about five or six times.

I just missed a . at the end and it did not accept my answer.

Really? I've literally never used punctuation in any of my answers and it always accepts them

Yea, you don't need punctuation.
