Little Netherlands in Minecraft! Gaming Helps the Learning!
I joined a Dutch Minecraft server a little while ago, and it really helps with the learning process! I already finished my tree and have been chatting almost daily in Dutch with native friends since week 2 or so of learning Dutch, so this hasn't made a HUGE impact, but for someone who doesn't have Dutch friends this could be really helpful!
I made this completely in survival in the past week, if that tells you how much time I've spent lol... I just tried to make something Dutch-ish...
The chat is purely in Dutch so it's super helpful, and I thought I'd share so that others can get some practice talking to natives too! The IP of the server is play.mcdutchcraft.nl:25565 if anyone is interested in practicing, the chat is purely in Dutch but they understand English too. There's usually 20 people on at a time during the daytime in Europe and it's good for colloquial practice.
Wow, that looks pretty nice! You must have played for several hours every day to finish it in one week. :D I like your village, maybe I'll join that server!
Continue practicing Dutch, German and Swedish!
The water is 4 blocks wide, but I had to dig a 6-wide hole because I wanted the walls to be cobble. The water itself is 4x2 blocks.
This brings me back to my Minecraft obsession in 2012... I just may get onto a server in French, or try out the Dutch server you gave. Thanks :D
I know this is not really related to Duolingo, but how did you make the blades of the windmills in survival?
Same way I made this picture, I climbed up on a stack of dirt lol. The fans are just spruce logs, fence posts and white wool, btw.
