So, when you nag your kid to clean his room and he yells back, "I'm doin' it!", how would that translate into Spanish? "Lo estoy haciendo" sounds way to formal.

Does it?...I am a native Spanish speaker....I would say: Ya lo estoy haciendo....lo estoy haciendo....estoy en ello...Ya casi termino...depending on the context....

"Estoy haciendo" means "I am doing" or "I am making" which is not a complete English sentence.
