Les Mousquetaires - Member List/Sign up page
If you happen accross this page, it's now been updated. The updated version can be found here
This is the page with a comprehensive list of all members of the French immersion team Les Mousquetaires. It is also where I would like prospective members to sign up.
Who we are: Les Mousquetaires is a group designed to get translators of all skill levels together to translate articles in immersion, both from French to English and English to French. We translate high-quality Wikipedia articles, works of literature, and various stories. The group was created by Blanchefleure, and is currently run by myself and Mundusfr.
And the main purpose of this post, the list:
English native speakers
Blanchefleure (currently honourary, creator of the group)
French native speakers
Afrikaans native speakers
Bengali native speakers
Farsi native speakers
Georgian native speakers
German native speakers
Icelandic native speakers
Italian native speakers
Norwegian native speakers
Portuguese native speakers
Romanian native speakers
Russian native speakers
Please post below or on my stream if you want to join, if you have any questions or suggestions, or if you spot an error. Also, please upvote this so lots of people can see it!
Great, welcome to the group! Check out the two links I've provided and start translating :)
Great :) Click the green follow discussion in the top right, that'll make it appear in the followed section of the discussion forums. Also check out the links provided for the rules and articles. Hope you enjoy it!
I wanted to thank all the team for the work done here ! It's a pleasure to help and learn with you :)
My French is mediocre , my time variable and I'm a native English speaker but as you say that's ok, please may I join. Thanks :-)
Welcome to you as well; see the links in the post and start translating!
I would like to join, however I am not sure if my standard of French is adequate; mais je me débrouille pas trop mal.
All skill levels are welcome, you can always stick to shorter, simpler sentences for now and progress as you go along :)
Of course :) From a quick glance down your stream, is your native language Farsi? I'll put you there for now...
Please sign me up, too. Thanks for having this group. (English native speaker)
Add me, please. :) I'd be glad to join. I consider myself a native speaker of both English and Bengali, you might as well put me in as a native speaker of the former.
I'll admit that we're getting far more members than I'd expected, but I don't really think that it's a problem. The big problem would be if we had too few members! So you and anyone else who wants to can still join :)
Hi, I would like to join. I will be outside wifi range for a week 2/7-2/14 - can I still join? thanks for this opportunity!
Thanks so much! I want to translate higher level articles. I'm excited. And yes, I'm going to Big Sur (Esalen) for a week!
By the way, might you know if there's any way to protect my 131-day streak while I'm gone for a week? I can buy one day's worth with my lingots, but I wonder if there's some way to go on "hold" or something. Do you know anything about that?
You could give someone you trust a great deal access to your account and make them promise to buy a freeze every day. That's about the only idea I can come up with :(
Got it thanks! Maybe Duo could make it possible to buy a week streak freeze. While buying a streak freeze every day is the technical solution, and I have enough lingots to make it work, in the end I may have to let go of my streak attachment, take the break and just get back to it when I return.
I've recently gotten back into immersion and would like to join the group. Hopefully, there's still room. I am a native English speaker.
Thanks! This question might be more appropriate in the Feb. discussion, but I added a few articles to immersion over the past week that have partially translated/reviewed. How can we add articles for the group?
Just tell me what they are, with links, either in the Feb discussion or on my stream, and I'll put them in the post :)
Hey, if you have room for a lightly active native English speaker, I'd love to join!
Salut ! J'aimerai me joindre à vous ! Une de plus dans la petite équipe de français !
I would like to join. I studied French a long time ago and it is very rusty.
I just worked on translating your most recent 3 mousquetaires chapter. Does this make me a member?// would being a member change anything about my translating experience? I'm a bit confused about this.
okay, I read your stipulations and I'm on board! ... English native speaker, as you can tell from the wrong gender I used when I made up this name to do the French course...
Extremely impressive levels, especially the Swedish... Adding you now :)
Edit: Tier 211!!!!! How do you do you do it? :D
I could have sworn I replied to this earlier... You were added several hours ago :)
May I please join, I am an Australian learning French first. Other languages will follow.
I would like to join this illustrious band of Mousquetaires. Afrikaans native speaker, capable of good English, with British spelling. Mais j'aime francais!
Thanks for including me. Please confirm whether the articles and other texts that we as Les Musquetiers are supposed to translate, are listed seperately from the other Immersion documents? Saying it differently, where do I find the documents I am expected to translate?
Right here It's also the "most recent session in English" link at the top, you can also look at Mundus' French edition if you prefer :) I post a new version every month, as does Mundus. The main page (also linked at the top) provides some more information on the group. Have fun!
I would like to join. I'm an English (American) native speaker working on French and living in Paris for the next 3 months.
Knittingirl, Clear as a bell. Thank you very much for your guidance. Avec respecte, PdBS.
Hello and thanks for the opportunity to join such great people. My French (and English too) has to be enhanced. I'm German :)
If this group is still active, I think I've brought my French up to an acceptable level to ask if I may join. Thank you for your welcoming spirit!
Please let me know if you are still looking for new members. I would love to join!
Thanks in advance,
Hi knittingirl. Would you please add me to your group. I am a native English speaker. I had my French owl and reset everything. I feel comfortable reading French, but realize I have a long way to go. Thanks.
I would like to be added to the native English speakers group. My French reading ability isn't too bad, but I have a little ways to go in writing.
Hi knittingirl / ma bell tricoteuse. As per Mundusfr's invitation I would like to be a member of your group. Please add my name to the group. Thanks.
I honestly thought you were already a member! Quite happy to rectify the situation immediately :) Your native language language is Italian, right? I'll just be adding it to the newer list https://www.duolingo.com/comment/10947663 Also, how did you find this version? I'm just curious if there's a link I didn't update...
