Then you are saying "the red tomato is small", not "the small tomato is red". You are to describe "the small tomato", not "the red tomato".

Duolingo needs better pronunciation recognition. I said the exact translation, but it told me I said "El tomate chico es rojo" and marked it correct. I was still happy to get it right, but what the hell? That wasn't even close to what I said.
