As stated earlier by someone else here, in the English language saying that you're protected or have protection typically implies the usage of contraceptives, and that is, after bodyguards and food-testers, the first meaning and context of this sentence that came to mind. As such, I'm curious as to whether saying that you're protected in Irish implies that you're using contraceptives or whether Irish has it's own slang for them.
