70 days ago I was in Barcelona for the weekend. At around 1 in the morning I decided that I should learn Spanish as I knew then that I would want to live there one day. And now 70 days later at the end of a long streak I've completed the learning tree. Ha sido tan divertido. There's still a long road ahead, still a lot of words to learn and of course a lot speaking to practise. And when that's all done learning Catalá :D Barcelona here I come!
70 days is very impressive. I started about 10 days ago and am averaging about 1 lesson per day. I do lots of reviews and honestly don't have a clue but am hoping repetition and familiarity leads to success. I planned to shoot up like a rocket, but like most plans the pace has softened. I do exceed my 50 goal everyday on average. I do it mostly on the phone but have now found that the PC is much different and better, so I may zoom back up to 150 per day.
I roughly figure that for every 10 I do that I will learn or recall 1. But I also noticed that I prefer to review each lesson until absolute 100% is scored on a consistent basis. So as I progress I think the reviewing and flash carding will add up to way more than the course study for the day.
I'm hoping this program is set up so that comprehension starts coming together in a few weeks. I think that I will also start watching Spanish language TV for an hour or so each day to pick up the sounds and patterns.
My house is covered in sticky notes naming each item!
