Hi everybody!

After reading Duo goes to Belgium, it made me so uptight that I want to focus on and finish French and Dutch as fast as possible :) Ah, please excuse me, I don't know where to put this discussion and I would feel very guilible to make double post in both forum so I decide to combine both in Dutch :D After using DL for awhile, I decided to turn off the listening guide because I was so frustrated with the sound. It is not bad but still far from perfect. But DL does help me to get better at reading. So would anybody recommend me some good website for listening practice, and I am still beginner at everything :) I have saved up a good amount of Duolingots and there is nothing to buy in store so I don't mind to give away some :D

Thanks for helping!

Try www.npo.nl/uitzending-gemist you can find lots of Dutch tv shows of the public channels on there and most of them are accessible abroad and I believe most of them have the option for Dutch subtitles in case you are not sure what they are saying.

Don't know if there are any things you are interested in, otherwise I am happy to recommend some shows for you.

What age group are you thinking of? Unless you just want to wat Sesamstraat (Sesamestreet), though it's good to learn how to count and practice your abc ;)

What you could try is: Jeugdjournaal (news aimed at children (primary school) in 5-10 min): http://www.npo.nl/zoeken?utf8=%E2%9C%93=Zoeken=jeugdjournaal

Het klokhuis (informative show for kids 9-12): http://www.npo.nl/het-klokhuis/POMS_S_NTR_059960

Spangas (youth series about secondary school kids): http://www.npo.nl/spangas/POMS_S_NCRV_059870

Willem Wever (show in which questions of kids get answered, like why do you yawn etc.) http://www.npo.nl/zoeken?utf8=%E2%9C%93=Zoeken=willem+wever

Puberruil zap (kids switching families for a few days) http://www.npo.nl/puberruil-zapp/POMS_S_KRO_059858

Maybe not so much aimed at children but good if you like travelling 3 op reis http://www.npo.nl/zoeken?utf8=%E2%9C%93=Zoeken=3+op+reis

I'll leave it with this now if you have any other interests etc. I'm happy to recommend some more shows.

Through NPO you can also listen to the Dutch radio though the amount of talking varies, Radio 1 has a lot of talking but more about political stuff etc. 3FM is aimed at 20-34 year olds, so more music and more general conversations.

The NPO also has an app:

Apple: https://itunes.apple.com/nl/app/uitzending-gemist/id323998316?mt=8
