He's right but it's soooo hard to get up the courage to make all the mistakes you have to make in order to learn. I'm always embarrassed at how bad my Spanish is.

I don't get embarrassed but I tend to feel a little discourage when I can't express more things in my target language. It always takes me a lot of time to write something in English and I'm not satisfied with it. :(

Well, when I try to write something in Spanish it takes forever and leaves me in tears. ;) But I always remember the time I was in the same situation with English. Now it's as natural as writing in my native language to me. Which, of course, does not mean I do not make mistakes but it just became a habit to write in English. I really hope I'll be able to get to this point in Spanish and German. ;)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope one day I'll be able to write pretty well in both English and German. Of course doing that with some Asian languages as Japanese and Standard Chinese, it would take me a lot of years! But it is worth because I love the feeling of learning a new language.

Agreeeed! (i put 4 e's because that's how much i agree) i also notice when i'm actually speaking my target languages and someone corrects me, it sticks immediately and i can't forget it. Guess it can be from the stress or nervousness of the situation.
