Does punctuation matter? Most times I ignore it and simply write the meaning. I'm wondering though if they affect my score for the quiz and how often I need to review on the lessons.

No the accents and ponctuations do not matter

I would have to argue with that point when it comes to accents. Many embarrassing language mistakes have happened because people don't insert the accents. (particularly in Spanish, the ñ) :)

I do not have the ñ in my keyboard. I type just the normal n and DL considers it correct.

I don't either. :) I generally just use the DL keyboard, even though it takes up time on timed practices...

They matter, but Duo does not count them as 'wrong' if you omit them

Whether or not duoLingo penalizes you for getting accents wrong varies from language to language. In "Spanish for English Speakers" you are not penalized.

At least, I thought I rememberd being penalized for missing an accent in a different language (and being surprised at the time), but I cannot recall what language that was. I just tested a few, and none that I tried just now penalized me for missing accents.
