Translation:His ship saw the smoke from the sea.
What it's supposed to mean?
In the duolingoverse, ships have eyes and can see for themselves.
Am I the only one to think that the audio for 'saw' (så; [sɔːˀ]) sounds too much like 'so' (så; [sʌ])?
This is a bad English sentence: 'His ship from its position on the sea saw the smoke' or 'His ship saw the smoke coming from the sea'.
Either way, ship's can't see... :P
