Practising vocabulary ?
I like duolingo a lot and have learnt some basci spanish pretty fast, but the thing i have a hard time with is learning vocabulary. There are a lot of words like animal names of pieces of clothing i just keep forgetting once i've looked them up in a lesson. I'd like to practice those word but Duolingo keeps serving me over and over the same easy sentences and rarely the words i really have problems with (seriously, how many time do i have to practice "the cat drinks milk" per day ?
There is the words pratice but it doesn't seem to focus either on words i have to look up every time, and it's not much help since it's a spanish to english translation. I don't think that translating from the target language is an efficient way to really burn those words in my memory.
Why is there no way to select a bunch of word in the dictionnary and practice translation them from english to spanish until they are really memorized ?
Have you found the strengthen skills drills useful?and you can always redo a lesson - that's been helpful to me as well as using other sites like speaktribe. and for objects I find it ridiculously helpful to put a label on the ones around the house. I have also just made written lists to review.
Someone made a Memrise course with Spanish vocabulary from Duolingo course. I found it really helpful ;) http://www.memrise.com/course/114794/spanish-duolingo/
I have been doing the strengthen dills quite a lot of time, but i feel like they are repeating the same easy sentences over and over. I'll see maybe 3 or 4 times words i have trouble with, and most of the time it's a simple spanish to english translation.
I'll look into that Memrise thingy, never heard of it.
