He estoy lectura el Noticias en Español
I am still new to learning Spanish, but these past 2 days I've been forcing myself to read the news in Spanish and it's definitely making me check on the translation more.
Some palabras I didn't have to look up since I get the context of cosa. jajaja
I find that the news (and history) is easier for me to read than fiction. Yes, there will be words I have to look up, but it is also easier to figure out the meaning from the context.
I haven't tried fiction yet. I ordered some free books via Kindle so I can read so that will be something new to try.
I guess when you make sure when you get the basic vocals down, the other words will just make sense.
When I started reading Spanish, I would turn on the Spanish captions on DVD's and read as the actors translated the words for me! I learned a lot of words that way and rewinding and pausing were great helps.
I started reading the news first... I took the words that I don't know (I still do) and put them into an Anki deck to practice, that way I'll know them next time.
I graduated to magazines, and then I started reading books. I'm still only reading books in Spanish that I have read in English first, but at some point I will probably read books first in Spanish without reading them in English first.
