About How Free Duolingo Is

So this site is 100% free?? I will be able to learn everything without having to pay?? If so this is amazing. I am so excited to learn new languages and I can never find a truly free site. Honestly it is a shame but if this is truly and completely free then this will revolutionize the way that the internet language learning sites work.

Yes, the site is 100% free - no ads, no catches. If you're interested in how this can work, you can check out Luis's TED Talk: http://www.ted.com/talks/luis_von_ahn_massive_scale_online_collaboration.html

Have fun!:)

Yes indeed! This is a true win/win situation. You learn a language and the web gets translated. I love it!

Indeed, it is. I've heard something about some mistakes here and there but it will give you enough skills in whatever language you've learnt that you'll find that mistakes by yourself some day. I think this is acceptable for a free website and, at least the French guys, seem to put a lot of afford into fixing those problems.
