How do we treat accents in swedish?
Accents are not used, with the exception a handful of French loanwords such as kafé, kommitté, armé, allé etc.
And, for those who are unsure, they're always pronounced [e:], like the e in the word mer.
oh, I see, tack

We are the Committee.. of Public Safety!!!
(I'm sorry I couldn't resist the opportunity of a history joke)
Could you explain this? Which country's history?
It's from the French Revolution- a branch of the government during the Reign of Terror was called "The Committee of Public Safety", that regulated security measurements.
Right! Thanks - I never covered the French Revolution in history.
I have no key for the e with an accent so I will never get past this question!
Duolingo should accept an answer without accent
Use the Askii code Alt 130 to get é. (Hold down alt while typing 130)
If you're using a typical US keyboard, type "option-e", then type "e" a second time; it'll come out é. You can do the same with "option-u", then "a" or "o" to get the ä or ö. To get å is just "option-a".
Seen Chariots of Fire lately
"Vi är den brutala truppen!" (enligt Google translate, jag är inte så säker om "brutala")
