Ideas for things to buy with Lingots

Hi guys! :D I've seen some cool ideas around for things to buy with Lingots, which is especially interesting now that extra hearts are obsolete. Here is a list of those ideas (with the username of whomever came up with it between square brackets), and I will keep adding more to it...

  • DuoCulture [hellerm]: purchase a fact or recipe related to the culture of your target language

  • Duolingo Themes [Xyde]: buy a new theme / lay-out / interface for lots o' lingots that will make your duo look cooler

  • More Duo costumes [D_O_M_O]: "There should be an owl to greet you when you start a lesson, with a button next to it saying "Begin Lesson." Then, at the end, you will meet the owl again, while it tells you all of the wonderful things happening, ex. "You learned Basics 1! Congratulations!" You should be able to buy costumes for the owl, just like the version on iOS. Buying costumes in the Lingot store can make your Duo Owl look snazzy!"

  • For children: buy Youtube/Facebook/etc-time with lingots [can't remember the user who thought of this]

  • Progress-bar vs. heart-system: make one of these systems one-time purchasable, after which you can choose at each lesson which system to use (similar to timed practice vs. regular practice) [multiple users]

...So, what suggestions do you have?

Nice suggestions. And the Duo costumes are available in the Android app as well.

I know and I think that's cool :D But it woud be cooler if there were a desktop version available - I barely use the app. Btw, have you seen the dragon-costume yet? It was added in celebration of Chinese New Year :)

I've not used the Android app in a while........I've not used a phone/tablet in a while, actually....

I like the themes idea and the DuoCulture idea.

Perhaps one could purchase a DuoLingo desktop app at the store that incorporates these ideas, (to be made available after a certain amount of learning in a given language has been achieved, say).
