Is it possible to block people from editing articles you've uploaded?
I'm in a translation group where we decided to follow some conventions to translate an article so it will be as dialect-neutral as possible, but someone keeps editing the title into a localism. I've repeatedly told them in a polite manner that they should respect the decision we made in the article's discussion thread but they've edited it back three or four times. Is there a way to stop this?
You can click 'Remove article' on the bottom of the 'Legend' tab on the right side of the translatable text. It'll stay available to you under your uploaded articles, but will no longer be accessible to others.
I do want it to be accessible to others, just not to the person who keeps making the edit after multiple requests not to do so.
Well, if those others keep the text open in a tab they'll have access to the text even after you've removed it, however the same holds true for the person you are looking to shut out. So no, there's no real way of doing what you want to do.
I'd suggest just moving on, and not getting too caught up in the edit wars. If you've already translated it, then you've gotten some learning out of it - and in the end that's what it's all about. :)
Yes. I can't recall how it works though because it's a work-around. I would ask http://www.duolingo.com/raans if they can remember how to do it or if they remember who does. Maybe Luscinda knows. Good luck! If you can figure it out, come back and let me know. ^_^
Ok, well, I recall that it involved the"reove article" button. So, try "removing the article" working on it, and then putting it back?
