Jump in Ukrainian %

If anyone else checks the percentages as obsessively as I do, they'll notice that Ukrainian jumped something like just over 10% just in the past few hours. Anyone on here from the team to verify if you are just -that- awesome? Or did you delete some skills or something to mess up the percentage (as happens a lot)?

Anyway, everyone's still awesome...I just feel particularly nifty for being the first to mention it :)

I think they deleted some "template" skills, even if all the contributors typed translations nonstop, it would be difficult to achieve such a progress in an hour :)

I can also tell, Esperanto has almost the double amount of words compared to Ukranian.

Deleting the "template" skills is what I meant. It's like you know about that kind of thing :-P.

Didn't know the improbability of being able to actually do that much in an hour though, thanks :)

2000 words, each used at least 3 times -> 6000 sentences, each having several translations -> 15,000 sentences. 10% means only 1500 sentences, translated by 5 contributors -> 300 sentences/contributor in 60 minutes -> 5 sentences/minute/contributor. I consider that pretty fast when you have to try to think of all the possible translations.

Note: I'm not a contributor and all numbers are (under)estimates, so you shouldn't use them to calculate when a course is finished. Also, this calculation does not take into account the work done besides the translations.

I would never try to assume I could figure out when a course would come out based on that math, I know that there are soooo many more factors than simple rate of output, it's just I wasn't aware, until you and Selcen mentioned it, what exactly each percentage point essentially entails. Neat.

No worries, I didn't mean specifically you. I just know there are some people who take any indication of the release date as a promise and start screaming if it's not released by then.

lol, I know you weren't necessarily specifically talking to me, I was just reassuring you that there's at least one more of us that doesn't assume that :)

Calm down the hype.) Did some cleanup in earlier skills that had "empty" unused lessons with template words and that caused the jump. I guess DL needs to revise how its stats thing works..

As for the comments about scarcity of our updates - my apologies, we're just not that duo-social.. And I assure you that the course is being taken care of. We expect the launch in March.

Didn't mean for all the hype. I mean, I myself mentioned the possibility that it was because you had deleted template skills, etc. Also, I feel like you all are doing great, even considering updates. I feel like the one you all made that was something to the effect of "Ukrainian is coming" is all that was really needed, even :)

I saw that! It's funny, I went to the courses page and I just kind of knew something was "off" - it took me a while to realise it's because I am using to seeing Hungarian and Esperanto, both of whom are green, sitting next to each other. It's possible that I check that page a wee bit too often...

It does sound more likely to be a template deletion. I guess, though, that any more that brings them closer to beta (even if it's just deleting a skill) is a Good Thing (TM)!

Whoa, the completion rate is 9% past Esperanto now! I'm wondering the same thing you are though.
