Date of posts in discussions about sentences
is it normal that in discussions the date of a lot of (old?) posts are missing ? So we can't know if the question is old or not and so if it's worth it to answer.
We do remove the date if the thread was posted a few weeks ago. You can always check to see if the thread has been answered sufficiently by reading the comments. Adding a way to close threads has been discussed, so that it is clearer when a thread may be outdated.
Thank you for the answer. So if there is no date anymore we have to consider it outdated and so don't answer it ?
It just means it's not recent. You need to gauge by looking at the comments right now.
Well on this conversation I see all the dates (3 months for all the comments except yours and this one). But indeed in a lot of conversation, I don't see them...
Well I wonder if the rule isn't:
- disappear in exercise discussions
- always here in other discussions
Jrikhal, that must be it. I have only recently discovered the discussion pages, but in the exercise discussions, there are only dates for the last few posts.
I submitted a support ticket explaining this several times, and the answer was that it should be a problem with my computer (old version, crashed Flash, extensions, etc.). Who answers that?. I had not looked for in "Discussions" before. As the date of this post is still shown, I can know that it's near the date I submitted the ticket (#50506). Then, it seems that it is better to write to Discussion instead of Support.
I found useful seeing the approximate date given of every message/comment especially in exercises, and it'd be fine that they be always present.
