I started it a couple of months ago but did the bulk of it on this current streak. It has been my dream for years to spend an extended period of time in Sweden, and this is a great introduction to the language. As a reward to myself, I'm going to start my copy of the Millennium trilogy (Stieg Larsson) in Swedish!
Next - finding a Skype partner, seeking out television, films and books in the original, and listening to Swedish radio.
This is my second tree after French. I think I'm going to focus on Spanish next, while keeping up with the finished trees and working on Irish as a side project!
It's for anyone learning Swedish on here, really. We discuss problems we have in Duolingo, we post funny pictures of sentences, we talk about the culture, we ask each other general questions.
I'm in school right now and can't access Facebook, but if you search for "Duolingo: Swedish Learners" it should appear.
I checked out your suggestions. Very interesting music. I have some more, as some of my favourite bands and artists are from Sweden and although most of their songs are in English, there also are some songs in their own language. These are the bands I have Swedish albums of: Page, Sista Mannen På Jorden, Mr Jones Machine - and I know I have individual Swedish songs of Colony 5 ("Heta Nätter"), Saft ("Undantag" and more on youtube), Vision Talk ("Dina Tankar" and "Ögonblick"). Probably there are more, but as I have about 200 releases of about 80 different Swedish artists in my collection (V.A. - compilations not even included in the statistics), ranging from the 70s to current releases, I can't check them all now.
