10,000 hours

Malcolm Gladwell presented us with the idea that practice should be counted in hours; and that if you want to be good at something, such as learning a new language, you would need to practice for approximately 10,000 hours. I am not ashamed to admit that I in addition to reading, I spend a little time every day on my wii fit which tracks the amount of time I dedicate every day and charts my progress over time.

These two experiences have led me to wonder if perhaps it would be possible for Duolingo to measure progress over time in an easily accessible visual way, a graph or another form. What would the best indicators be I wonder? Time spent? Number of Mistakes? Lessons completed?

If it's possible it would be a great motivator :)

I suspect the best count would be number of questions answered, including those that were answered wrong because mistakes are part of the process.
