"He does not like to ask her."

Translation:Han tycker inte om att be henne.

Sorry I meant why not 'att fråga' instead of 'att be'

Why not ' att fraga instead

I am still a little confused as to when to use "tycker inte" and "tycker inte om"

  • han tycker om = he likes
  • han tycker = he thinks

So, it follows that:

  • han tycker inte om = he doesn't like
  • han tycker inte = he doesn't think

Note though that it's "think" in the sense of "I think that you should move to Indonesia", rather than "I'm thinking about fuzzy dogs."

When using 'gilla', do you have to use 'att' as in 'Han gillar inte att be henne.' or 'Han gillar inte att fråga henne' or is it possible to just leave it out? (Han gillar inte fråga henne)

You need the att with both gillar and tycker om.
