Why is æder wrong?

Æder is kind of a savage word that your mom will reprimand you for using about eating. Though it is more commonly used to describe non-human animals eating other non-human animals

Why is it en drengs and not drengens in this case?

When "en" or "et" are before a noun, that is like saying "a" or "an" in English. When it is after, then it is "the". For instance en kat= A cat, but Katten= The Cat.
