Who's using Duolingo for homeschooling? How do you use it? What do you like about it, and what would you change? (I'm not a Duolingo employee, just a curious user.)
Btw, my wife and I homeschool, and two of our children (the oldest and the youngest, an adult and an eight-year-old) are working in Spanish. One or possibly two others are signed up for French, though I don't think they're currently active.
Hi! I am homeschooled! I use DuoLingo daily to study, along with a Middlebury course! ;)
Another homeschooler here! We use Duolingo for Spanish. We have two 10year-olds in 5th and they like doing one session a day. One thing I don't like is that for the voice parts you need a head set with a microphone. Other than that it's great!
As long as you have a microphone and speakers, you don't have to use a headset. And you can turn off the requirement for a microphone altogether in your Settings, though I personally would recommend the mike for pronunciation practice.
If you have a microphone inside your computer, you don't need a headset. You can also switch off the microphone in the settings.
We just started using it for homeschooling. I'm studying with Duolingo, too, but my teen daughter began Spanish last week. I assign 30 minutes of work and review a day.
