Add the Accent Game

I wonder if we need a game where they give us a sentence, already translated, and we need to add the accents to the letters.

Just feeling that I'm not learning the accents very effectively, through the standard questions and answers.

I would like that option. Most of the time I skip the accents because it takes too long to type, especially in Spanish.

I would like that too, por favor.

That would be nice. Or, we could actually get marked wrong if we don't put the accents in.

I think that would increase the frustration curve a bit much in learning. Occasionally having an accent game would encourage us to take note of accents.

I think it's a good idea to be marked wrong -- but not at the beginning -- to force us to take care of the accents!

So why not doing it for those who have completed the tree and/or that have more than a certain amount of points ? Or an option turn on/off the "accent have to be correct". Or (this one also not from the beginning), if you have an accent error you just earn half the points ?

The optional method is the only one I could really accept. Fundamentally, I just don't have the keys on my keyboard, so it would be damn irritating to have to use the screen keys all the time.

You could "install" them (putting extra keyboard configuration) or try to create some shortcuts for them...

No, please no! :) I often work on my tablet. Some accents just can't be typed.

I think the fact that accents are optional is a a good thing. Duo reminds you when you miss them already, and you can already decide for yourself to type them if you want to be a perfectionist. It's a silly thing, but the basic truth is that no novice learner from English has any idea what an accent is, how to type it, what it is for when English manages just fine without them... in simpler words, if you can pay attention to the accents, great, but it doesn't do any good to anyone, to punish people who struggle. You have to have wiggle room. I find the writing traditions of every language to be completely poisonous in some way or another, and I don't think that it is worth punishing people with details before they have had a chance to become confident speakers, because language is something that you use your mouth for :)
