Not unusual in farm families, who would get an animal slaughtered. Although my Danish family usually has it's own pigs. The butcher would come (comes?) to the farm with his butcher truck. Now some people get a 'halv gris/ko) nicely cut up in labeled packages. I remember helping my svigerinde package 'hakket svinekød' (fars) from one of their pigs.
No, but if I did, I would certainly keep my fridge clean from carrions... Just my thought!
