Question

I have a question and I'm really confused. I don't get the whole thing with "ME GUSTA." In some lessons on duo that I've done I've seen "me gustaron" and "me gustan." In these cases I'm marked wrong when I put "me gusta." I've never even seen once "yo gusto" which throws me off even more. And also, I wrote just "gusta" on my Spanish paper once and I got it marked that I had to write "ME gusta." Help?

You don't see "yo gusto" because "gustar" means to please, not to like. When you say "me gusta" it means "it pleases me" and when you say "me gustan" it means "they please me." I hope this helps and good luck.

Nice description. To expand a bit, there's several verbs that work like this in Spanish. You can find a partial list on this page.

Thank you as well. I got it when no.name.42 explained it but you confirmed it with the link ( very useful for future reference.)

Ohhh I get it now. Thanks a lot! I didn't realize that ME was the object of the verb GUSTA, not the subject. I thought ME was just another form of YO. Thank you so much again

I think you shouldn't put gusta alone, me gusta-and other conjugation forms should do, I don't know other conjugations about the plural forms but I know that me gustaria is a form to say it more politely

well, conjugating can be complicated. me gustan is plural, and gusta doesen't mean much on it's own. I wish i could be more of a help, but i don't want to tell you wrong information.
