Finished Spanish tree one day before leaving for the Dominican Republic
My journey with Duolingo has been going on for over a year now as I have been reconnecting to Spanish and learning some other languages along the way.

I am travelling to the Dominican Republic tomorrow for my spring break in order to volunteer in a rural school helping children to learn English. I am so happy that I have come so far in my learning and I am excited to apply what I have learned here and elsewhere! It will be very rewarding to connect to another culture on such a deep level.
I have enjoyed this journey immensely and will certainly keep up with my Spanish as well as continue to pursue other languages as well. It has been a great journey so far and I look forward to many more years with Duolingo!
Congratulations! Let us know how it goes, whether you're able to communicate well, and what happens on your trip. This is fascinating!
Hello! The trip was amazing!! Although knowing Spanish was not a requirement (as we were meant to fully immerse the students in only English) it helped immensely especially if the kids were not behaving or did not understand something. It also helped me to talk to some people in the community. This trip made me realize both how far I've come as well as how far I have to go. It was truly amazing! The group I worked with is Outreach360 and they are such a fantastic organization. I recommend everyone checks them out.
No problem! The trip inspired me and I hope my experience can inspire others :)
What a great accomplishment and a wonderful reward! My kinda life! Have a great time.
Congratulations. I would love to visit the Dominican republic. I am sure the children will help you improve your Spanish.
