Weird words still showing up in Portuguese lessons.
I was just doing a lesson and the word "cifra" showed up. I would much rather concentrate on say the 2,000 most frequent words in Portuguese. The word "cifra" isn't even in my 5,000 word Portuguese frequency dictionary. I've come across a few other words like this that I'll never use or probably never see.
Cifra is "Cipher" about music. Just in the case you or the readers wonder. But that is a good idea of concentrate on the more frequent words. But i think Duolingo already did that, but sometimes some incommon words show up, but that can be useful in the future. Have a good day.
I'm a musician and have never heard the word "cipher" in any kind of musical context. The sentence used was "Uma cifra é como um código".
Sorry, in criptography "Cifra" in portuguese is an algorithym according to wikipedia. " A cifra é um ou mais algoritmos que cifram e decifram um texto.'. "The 'Cifra' is one or more algorithyms that code or decode a text".
