☘ Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhuit, Duolingo! ☘ (Happy St. Patrick's Day!)

In honor of St. Patrick and all the beauty that is the Emerald Isle and the Irish people, I vow to finish my Irish Tree by the end of the month!

It seems like just yesterday, I was waltzing through the Temple Bar district of Dublin enjoying the land of my ancestors. Such fond memories. :)

Go raibh maith agaibh! Thank you once again, Team Irish, for this glorious course that you have created for all of us. The language is truly fascinating.

Sláinte! ☘

UPDATE: I finished my Irish Tree at 12:39am on March 31st, 2015! :) Just in the nick of time~ Imgur

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Did you notice that this year's St. Patrick's Day Google Doodle was created by Irish artist Eamonn O’Neill?

Besides the shamrocks playing traditional musical instruments (including a bodhrán, the little hand drum), he also offered "illustrations of St Patrick and the snakes, the St Patrick’s Day parade and a number of famous international buildings turning green."

How awesome! I grew up next door to Dublin, Ohio and we have one of the biggest Irish festivals in the country every summer~~but Boston is definitely as Irish as it gets in the US on St. Paddy's Day! ;) Have fun!

I'm on track to finish my Irish tree by the end of March, too! I won't challenge you to a race, since that would not encourage good study habits. But I will check on March 31 to see if we both made it!

Níl mé ach i ndiaidh teacht ar an suíomh seo Duolingo as Gaeilge ach tá an chuma air go bhfuil sé gabháil a bheith iontach úasáideach go háirithe do fhoghlaimeoirí. Ceist agam oraibh, cad is Irish Tree ann? agus cad é mar is féidir liom seo a dhéanamh? Tá mé ag foghlaim na Spáinnise le Duolingo chomh maith agus bíonn cuid mhaith alt agus plé as an Spáinnis féin fiú ag foghlaimeoirí ar shuíomh s'acu agus creidim gur nós iontach maith é an teanga a úsáid ón tús. Tá a fhios agam go bhfuil sé deacair í a scríobh agus go mbíonn faitíos ar dhaoine go ndéanfaidh siad meancóga ach tá an oiread sin riallacha sa Ghaeilge go ndéanann gach duine meancóga cibé. Ná fánaigí go raibh sibh liofa sa teanga nó ní labharfaidh sibh an Ghaeilge go deo na ndeor!

The complete set of Duolingo skills to be learned is called the "tree". When people say they've completed the "Irish Tree" or the "Spanish Tree" or the "German Tree", etc., it means they completed all the skills. Once you've completed all the skills in a language, the golden owl for that language appears at the bottom of your skills. Most people post an message when they've completed a tree. :D
